They are somewhat working well together on cases, but they’re just going through the motions. Sam can’t understand why Dean is trusting Benny. Can you blame Dean really? Sam left him for dead in purgatory and Benny helped him get out.
I know Sam and Dean always say they will go off and live happily ever after if one of them dies, but they never do. Well technically Dean did leave Sam in the cage, but that was only so Lucifer stayed put too. Dean sold his soul to save Sam and then Sam tried everything to get Dean out of hell. That is the normal Winchester way, but things are different now.
Sam needs to let go of his hatred of Benny and accept that Benny has been there for Dean more than he has lately.
Dean has to forgive Sam. I understand why Dean is so mad, but I think Sam was just burned out. He lost everyone he ever cared about and he gave up, it’s understandable.
I’m glad that Dean isn’t just going off to hunt Benny after he killed Martin. Martin did have it coming. Sam was wrong to put him out in the field so soon. I don’t care if it was only tracking. Martin was not mentally stable to get back to the job yet, if ever. I’m not saying that Benny was right, I mean he could have knocked Martin out, but Martin did threaten his family. As long as he stays in check after that kill, he does not deserve to die.
