Emily opens up the episode saying: “In its purest form, a union becomes part of our very essence. And when that bond is broken, our essence is forever changed”, and then ends the episode saying: “But the strength of the union cannot be known until it is tested.”
A lot of unions were tested or begun to be tested in this episode.
This week Emily had to watch her childhood love marry someone else, that he thinks is her. It’s a wonder how anyone can truly be in love on this show when there are so many lies and false identities.
Emily has had a hard life and this couldn’t have been easy. The day before Aiden had walked away from her.
Aiden was trained for revenge, but every time things get rough, he walks away. I know Emily wants a partner in crime to lean on, but I don’t know if Aiden is that person. Nolan has always been true to Emily. She has tried to push him away for his own safety, but he’s always there for her.
I don’t think Aiden and Emily’s bond is very strong. Unless he’s with her for the long haul now, I don’t think they can make it work.
Daniel grew up in a life of privilege, but he’s distancing himself from Emily so he can keep her safe. I knew Daniel still had feelings for Emily, I just didn’t know how strong they were.
I really feel for Daniel, he’s just been given all this information showing how dangerous the initiative is and then he goes home to find his mother has killed Hellen Crowley. He’s been thrown way into the deep end. Conrad, Daniel and Victoria have never been the greatest of teams, but their bond is now going to be tested. Covering up a murder should be easy for them, but the repercussions of killing a woman so powerful, probably won’t be as easy to take care of.
What does this mean? Helen is gone. Who’s there to take her place?
Nolan must really like Padma, since he’s going against Emily’s judgment. Padma did come clean to Nolan, so she’s not all bad. Will she be a double agent for them though? Who will she answer to now that Helen is dead.
This episode certainly created more questions than it answered. And we are left with Nate on the boat ready to take out Jack and Amanda. Is this business deal that important to him that he feels he has to dispose of the problem?
