Last year Chris Pratt was a box office hit with ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ and this weekend he’s looking to top that with ‘Jurassic World’.
Variety is predicting that the film will make $125 million opening weekend.
Chris, 35, got his start playing Bright Abbott on ‘Everwood’. He was the goofy and lovable older brother of Amy (Emily VanCamp) and friend of Ephram Brown (Gregory Smith). Bright was cute and got all the girls. He ended up falling for brainy Hannah Rogers (Sarah Drew), that’s when his character really grew. The show premiered in 2002 and Chris wasn’t a main fixture in the storyline, but as his character grew, he got more screen time. I didn’t like his character when the show first premiered, but as his friendship grew with Ephram and when he fell for Hannah, I grew to really like him.
Now Chris is about to be a blockbuster star with ‘Jurassic World’. His career is following a similar path of Melissa McCarthy. She started on ‘Gilmore Girls’ as Sookie St. James. She went on to star on the hit TV show, ‘Mike and Molly’, and has starred in some popular films: ‘Bridesmaids’ and ‘The Heat’.
Chris also starred in ‘Parks and Recreation’, which I haven’t seen yet, but definitely want to check out. He’s been growing his career and is on the verge of being a big star. He couldn’t have picked a better film to really launch into stardom. ‘Jurassic World’ is a really fun film for the family. If you don’t know his name now, you will by the time the weekend is over.
TV has launched so many careers: Jennifer Aniston, Clare Danes, Kristen Bell, Michelle Williams, Seth Rogen, Jessica Alba, Jennifer Garner, Jennifer Lawrence, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, George Clooney, Will Smith, Bradley Cooper, James Franco, Jason Segel, Johnny Depp, Mila Kunis and Ryan Gosling.
We follow our favorite characters week after week and are devastated when they leave or when the show is canceled, but then the actors go on to bigger and better things. That is exactly what Chris has done. ‘Everwood’ ended, way too soon in my opinion, and he went on to star on ‘Parks and Recreation’ and now he’s about to be a big star. You may never have guessed it when he was on ‘Everwood’, but now he is getting to work on some pretty cool projects.
Us ‘Everwood’ fans can say we know him when. He’s grown up into a talented actor and I’m sure he will be on a top sexy men in hollywood list real soon.
Who will be the next big star from TV land?
