I have the most exciting news for Gilmore Girls fans: A revival is headed to Netflix!
According to TVLine, Netflix has closed a deal with Warner Bros. for a limited revival series that will be written by series creator Amy Sherman-Palladino and executive producer Daniel Palladino. It will consist of four 90 minute episodes.
Negotiations with the cast are just beginning, but so far, Lauren Graham, Alexis Bledel, Kelly Bishop and Scott Patterson are expected to be back!
While nothing is a done deal yet, it’s very much in the works.
At the ATX Film Festival this year, Amy said she would love to do a revival of the series, but it would have to be the right time and the right format.
We may just get to hear those final four words she wanted to end the series on. Who will say those elusive four words?
Gilmore Girls is one of my favorite shows of all time and I’ve watched the show so many times. In fact, I’m watching it while writing this post. (Season 5, episode 3, Written in the Stars. Remember the episode where Rory met Logan for the first time!)
I’ve been compared to Rory so many times that she has become my life muse (Not to downgrade my New York muse, Serena van der Woodsen from Gossip Girl.) I would love to have more episodes to follow Rory’s rise to the top.
I was so sad when the show came to an end, because it just seemed so unfinished. We never got a Luke and Lorelai wedding and if I had known the show was coming to an end, I would have liked Rory to have said yes to Logan’s proposal.
Which one of Rory’s guy’s will she end up with or will she end up with someone completely new? That may depend on which guy signs on to do the revival series. Personally, I always liked Logan the best, but if not him, I’d say Jess.
Jess and Logan were such interesting characters and were not perfect. Dean was so boring. He was the dream first boyfriend for any mother or girl, but he was so boring. Sorry Jared Padalecki, you’re so much better as Sam on Supernatural.
If this all falls through or turns out to be a bad rumor, I’m going to be completely devastated! So Lauren, Alexis, Kelly and Scott, you better be ready to give fans the ending we all deserve.
Gilmore Girls was one the best written shows I’ve ever seen. Every week we got laughs, endless pop culture and literature references, drama and inspiration. And lets not forget all of those quirky characters. I’ve never wanted to live in a small town before, but I would be so down to live in Stars Hallow.
I’ve never heard anyone talk as fast as Lorelai and Rory and they always had something smart and witty to say. We have seven seasons worth of great quotes, but that’s just not enough.
I’ll keep my eyes and ears open for more information about this very anticipated revival.
In the meantime, make sure to continue to binge watch episodes on Netflix!
