Supernatural has always been great with the one liners, but the writers have upped their game this season. I guess when the Darkness is upon us, we need to lighten the mood somehow.
These boys have too many missions at the moment. They briefly talked about finding God before they went back to trying to find Metatron and Amara, plus Crowley. Sam can’t seem to find anyone, but they did check something off their to-do-list this week, saving Cas and finding and losing Rowena.
The only way to save Cas was to get Rowena to reverse to spell. I was so happy Rowena was back and she didn’t disappoint.
She wants to build her own coven, one that she calls Mega Coven. I think she could have come up with a better name, but I guess she’s never been the creative type, but she’s good at casting spells.
I really enjoyed when she was recruiting other witches at Brunch, unfortunately Crowley’s minion interrupted the fun and tried to kill Rowena, but she got away, like she always does.
This did help the boys find her. One of her recruits was just about worthless and wanted to stay at the police station. That worked out great for Sam and Dean. She led them right to Rowena.
Once again they had to make a deal with Rowena and Cas runs off just as they are sealing the deal.
Before Sam and Dean could save Cas, he gave Dean a good beating. Dean has had worse, I mean he’s been dead, but his face was pretty swollen.
Rowena obliged them with reversing the spell, but ran off before they could chain her again. They were supposed to let her go, but that probably wasn’t the plan.
Amara is one scary little girl. She’s killed two of her nannies and she’s listening to Hitler’s speeches. But what exactly does she want? She’s not happy with what God did to her or what he’s done with the world. She doesn’t appear to be good or evil. So what does that make her?
Crowley is trying to get her on his side, but that’s proving very difficult. He may need to rethink his approach. She’s already a teenager and she’s very, very hungry.
For the most part this episode was just really funny and it was nice that Cas is back to normal. They are going to need him back on his game to figure out what to do next.
Other than that we got to learn more about Amara and how scary she is and it was nice to welcome back Rowena.
