The intensity isn’t slowing down this season. The plan is still going forward, but there has been a lot of set-backs.
If you haven’t watched Sunday’s new episode of The Walking Dead, watch it first then come back and read my review, because there’s a major spoiler coming.
The writers couldn’t have possibly just killed off Glenn. I can’t accept this. I also don’t know how he could possibly get out of this alive. I hate to say he should have killed Nicholas when he had the chance, but it looks like Nicholas got him killed.
It looked like the walkers were eating Nicholas, not Glenn, but I would assume they would move on to Glenn once there are done. The preview for next week gives us no comfort, seeing as it looks like it’s an episode all about Morgan. So the writers will make us wait longer to confirm that one our favorite characters is dead.
To be honest, I don’t know how long I will continue to watch The Walking Dead if he really is dead. I still love Daryl, Michonne and Maggie, but if they’ve killed off Glenn, I’m going to be very angry. Not just upset, yes, angry.
Since it’s not confirmed yet, I’m going to hold out hope that the writers didn’t do something very stupid. So writers, listen up, you have to come up with a way to miraculously make Glenn alive or else.
Glenn isn’t the only one with a bad fate at the end of this episode. Rick is in a pretty bad predicament too. The herd has got up with him and the RV won’t start and he’s hurt his hand.
Looks like the wolves from last week weren’t finished yet, they gave one more go at Rick, but Rick took them down like a boss. I don’t think he can take care of that many walkers in just the same manner though.
If it weren’t for the wolves, he probably would have continued as planned.
Rick said at the beginning of the episode that not not everyone would make it. He was completely right, but did he imagine just how many people wouldn’t make it?
These people were not ready for this mission. Heath had no idea what he was in for. He thought Michonne and Glenn were just going to leave them all to die, but it’s a lot more complicated than that. You can’t go back for someone when they are being eaten by walkers.
Michonne told him he doesn’t get it because he hasn’t been in the thick of it. He hasn’t been covered in so much blood that he doesn’t know whether it’s the walker’s, his friend’s or his. And he doesn’t know what it’s like to kill someone because they’ve already killed your friend and they’re coming for you next. He hasn’t done things that have made him afraid of himself afterwards.
That was a very moving scene. It shows once again how their experience level is different and reminds us all what these characters have been through.
By the end of the episode Heath gets a better idea of what Michonne is talking about. They tried to get everyone home, but they just couldn’t and she fears the worst for Glenn.
Next week looks to be all about Morgan, so we’ll have to wait to find out the fate of Glenn.
