This was a very beautifully done episode, but I think we would all like confirmation on whether Glenn is alive or not. Of course we can continue to be in denial while we wait.
I’m sure we’ve all be wondering what happened to Morgan, we probably didn’t want to find it out right now though. We do have more pressing matters to deal with.
We’ve seen glimpses of Morgan following the trail to Rick, but the last time we really saw him, he was crazy. Now we see his evolution into the peace man that he is.
He was even crazier than we last saw him. He was killing everything that moved, but he was surviving. It was just luck that brought him to Eastman and bad luck that tore them apart.
Even on a quiet episode such as this, we still got two deaths. Is it wrong that I was more sad when Tabitha died than Eastman? Eastman was ready to go. He passed on his knowledge and he was able to save Morgan. He was ready. It was still sad, but he was at peace.
Tabitha, the poor girl, just got killed. I think I assumed she would die, but it was still sad. She was kind of like a dog. She was good company when you were all alone and she let you know when the walkers were coming. Eastman and Tabitha had made a good home for themselves. It was sad that they both had to die. But I guess for the story to continue, they had to do die.
Eastman’s tragedy happened before the walkers. It was heartbreaking to hear his story. His family was taken from him just for doing his job. It doesn’t surprise me that he took the man and starved him to death. It makes it all the more clear of how he came to the realization that all life is precious.
Morgan is left with a difficult decision. Eastman had only met one evil man and now Morgan has met one too. That story did nothing for one of the wolves and he’s going to kill every last one of them if he gets the chance. If you were thinking as Carol and Rick do, the solution would be to kill him, but with Morgan’s new way, it’s to keep him alive.
In a normal society, I say yes, keep him alive, but it’s a new world, a kill or be killed kind of world. Is the better option not to kill him? Yes, all life is precious, but if the man is just going to kill them all anyways, is it really worth the risk to preserve his life? That means more blood shed. It’s definitely a complicated dilemma.
Next week Maggie is going out to look for Glenn! Will she find good news?
