I loved that Sam and Dean were saving imaginary friends this week. I guess after everything that they’ve encountered, why not imaginary friends?
It doesn’t surprise me that Sam had an imaginary friend and it also doesn’t surprise me that Sully was so close to Sam. Sam has such a big heart and everyone he touches loves him.
Sam may have made a lot of mistakes, but they were all with the best of intentions. And I know that saying, the road to hell is paved with good intentions. Sam has walked that path more than once. I don’t think that takes away from all he’s accomplished, though.
This was such a fun episode. It made me wish that I had an imaginary friend when I was a kid and that they were real.
Though the manicorn was a little creepy. I loved the mermaid. These imaginary friends have a tough job, especially when one of their charges is Sam Winchester.
While it’s sad that these imaginary friends were dying, looking over there death scenes was actually quite funny. I think it was the funniest when the mother was wiping the glitter blood all over her face. That poor child is going to be traumatized for life.
It was also funny just looking at Sam and Dean’s faces when they were investigating the scenes. It wasn’t like anything they’ve ever done before.
Supernatural plays with the laws of reality sure, but would Sam and Dean really be able to hang out in someone’s back yard and bury an imaginary mermaid without anyone noticing? Would they be able to sneak around someone’s yard at night, with out anyone noticing? Sure they sneak into a place undetected, but they were out there in the open for some of it in this episode.
It was an episode about imaginary friends, but we just kind of overlooked a few things this week. It doesn’t really matter, but just not realistic.
It was heartbreaking to watch Sam shut Sully out, but I’m sure a lot of imaginary friends break-up with their charge that way, but it still hurts.
Sully’s job wasn’t done though. He had to help Sam figure out what to do. While yes, Sam should do everything he can to defeat the Darkness, is going to the cage really the right idea? Is this not a trick? I’m with Dean on this one, there’s got to be another way.
This case didn’t link back directly the story arc, but it was definitely a soul searching episode and we got to learn even more about Sam. Who knew that in the 11th season, we would still be learning about Sam.
We’ve always known the life that Sam’s lived, but I guess we forget. He really was a lonely kid. He hardly went to school and when he did, he wasn’t there long enough to make friends. I love that Dean thinks that he was enough for Sam. Was he really enough when Sam was left alone in a hotel room?
