The Royals has been scandalous, funny and mysterious, but never has it had so much heart. This week’s episode was the best episode ever. We had the partying, a little bit of the mystery and we had Eleanor getting her heart broken.
Alexandra Park and Tom Austen were incredible in this episode. We really saw depth in these two characters. Eleanor went from being the happiest she’s ever been to the most devastated she’s ever been. She’s so broken, worse than after her brother and father died. She’s as far down as she could go. Just watching her break was the most amazing thing to watch.
Jasper was trying so hard to stop Eleanor from getting her heartbroken, but Samantha could care less. She was taking her prize home, even if it was just earnings. It was so beautiful watch him give his speech to Samantha that was meant for Eleanor. He’s truly in love with her and as far was I can tell, the job was off for him, if it wasn’t for Samantha coming into play.
The scene were Jasper stares at Eleanor and starts crying was also a beautiful scene and it made it even better when Helena came in too. There was just beautiful scene after beautiful scene.
Helena had her own heartbreaking moment. She found out her man, Alistair, was actually alive, but he’s not going to forgive her. He wants to know if the twins are his, though.
Elizabeth Hurley is at her best when she’s lying to herself, like when she put the bloody handkerchief away. Is she scared that Alistair is the father or not the father? Does she even know what she’s scared of? But that’s the beauty of the scene. She’s so scared she’s just going to tuck it away.
Jake Maskall had his best episode yet. We love to hate Cyrus. He’s this awful man, but we saw him be more vulnerable than ever this week. He knows his days are numbered and he’s finally found someone he can truly care for.
He’s had some great moments with Violet. At some points I didn’t like her, but she’s really bringing the good side out of him. It may be a little too early for Cyrus proposing, but I never thought he would ever propose to anyone. It’s nice to see him happy. I may actually be starting to like Cyrus.
The only character who had any fun this week was Liam. His new girl showed him such a good time. Is this girl going to be a main fixture or is she just fun for now?
The party was also a lot of fun. The twins jumped out of a paper cake, there was dodgems (bumper cars for those not in the know) and the classiest beer pong I have ever seen.
Liam did have a serious moment. While the sprinklers came on, her remembered something. He remembered the girl who put the necklace on him. She wouldn’t tell him anything, because they are being watched. What was she doing at his party? She doesn’t seem like she would hurt a fly, so why is she involved with these people?
I’m still a big fan of Jasper and Eleanor, but I don’t know how they can get past this. He’s betrayed her more than he ever meant to, but he did the right thing. He told the truth. He may have broken her heart, but he came clean in the end. That’s more than she can say for a lot of people in her life. Her own mother won’t even be honest with her. I say there is hope for these two, but that may just be me wanting there to be hope.
