I kind of liked the idea of Cat being in on the secret, but I guess that was never realistic. It was a lot of fun watching Kara freak out and tell Winn and James that they had to be super normal, which is something Kara really isn’t good at doing. She was never really normal.
At least Kara can keep her assistant job. That was even worse when Cat threatened to fire her. We can’t lose our Kara and Cat moments, they have such great chemistry together. Luckily, Hank was able to fool Cat and Kara can go back to her normal, well her version of normal, life.
I was wondering how long it would be before Kara was let in on the secret. I mean it wasn’t right that Alex didn’t tell her sister, they tell each other everything.
It’s true, though, Kara is not good at keeping a secret. She told Winn right away about her powers, after she saved the plane that is and she didn’t try that hard to conceal her identity from James. Not that either of them were bad to tell, but still.
The action is good in Supergirl, sure, but the real magic is the heartfelt moment. My favorite this week was when Kara was going to go after Maxwell. I knew she would be extremely mad after Maxwell punched James. She wanted to go after him, but Winn calmed her down.
Then she broke down saying she lost everything and she’s never felt so powerless. All she needed to do was look around, she still has Winn and James, not to mention her sister.
I love Kara working at CatCo, for obvious reasons, but I never understood why she wanted to keep her job so badly. Her friends and the job keeps her human.
I definitely see how Cat can keep her down to earth with the way she treats her. That’s a sure way to keep anyone down to earth. Kara gets a lot of advice from Cat too. She’s a strong powerful woman that almost has it all. Now there’s someone to look up to.
What do we think about Maxwell? He’s not really a bad guy, he just doesn’t believe in Supergirl.
When I spoke to Peter Facinelli at New York Comic Con, he didn’t describe his character as evil, but he wasn’t necessarily good either. He’s definitely not an ally of Supergirl’s, though.
That leaves Maxwell a little bit of mystery, because we don’t know what his motives are. Sure he wants to keep the city safe, but does he want to take down Supergirl?
Who was that girl at the end? If he doesn’t like aliens, why does he appear to be working with one? Or is he just learning from her?
Winn and Jame’s mission may have been a bust, but I still loved them working together. They may not be friends, but they do make a pretty good team, despite James getting caught. It’s supposed to be Kara out in the field and them backing her up. They really are best when they have the whole Scooby gang together.
Astra is very clever, tough and manipulative, but she still has a soft spot for her niece. If she didn’t she would have let her people kill her. Kara will never crossover to her side, but Astra is probably still holding out hope.
