I was hoping that the reveal of who killed the king would have been a big surprise, but the writers have been hinting towards Ted for so long, the reveal is just very underwhelming.
I’m very disappointed. I’ve been enjoying this show so much and the biggest mystery is such a let down. Maybe if the writers didn’t make Ted look so guilty. At the beginning of the season I would have never guessed that Ted could have killed Simon, but now it doesn’t surprise me at all.
I may not have been surprised that Ted is the murderer, but everyone else is definitely going to be surprised.
Ophelia has been out the picture for a while, but if there was any hope of Liam and her reigniting their relationship, the flame is probably out forever now. How can they get past that?
I don’t really understand Ted’s motive. I know that his wife got killed because he saved the king instead of her, but that was his job. That wasn’t Simon’s fault. Simon was a good king. Why did he have to be punished for an accident?
Since the head the palace security is the murderer, is anyone safe? Did he have Robert killed too?
I’ve been selfishly happy that Eleanor hasn’t ratted Jasper out, but why? Embarrassed? And yes he screwed up royally, pun intended, but he never went through with his plan. It wasn’t his fault that Samantha came and finished the plan. He stopped her even. His intentions were bad, but as Helena said, if they punished everyone for their bad intentions, they would all be in jail.
So if you are going to let him continue working in the palace, you have to let it go. Not necessarily to get back together with him, though I would like that, but to just live your life.
He’s kept her safe and he did what no one else could, discover who killed their Simon. I think that makes up for it.
I love that the writers make us love this bad guy. In real life I would be saying get rid of him, punish him, but in the world of The Royals, I want to keep him around and see him forgiven.
I think Jasper and Liam should go to the police, but then it wouldn’t be the The Royals. It’s true that Ted could slip away, since he did almost get away with killing the King of England. If it wasn’t for Jasper’s undying love for the princess and the need to make things right with her, Ted may have gotten away with it.
If Lucius is right and the monarchy can’t handle another big scandal, does this mean their reign is almost over. I mean the head of security killing the king is a pretty big scandal. Not to mention he set up a fall guy for himself. This is one big scandal that it would be hard for the monarchy to come back from.
It’s true that Cyrus is not fit to be king. I mean he’s marrying a maid that he got pregnant.
Could Violet’s disappearance be having good affect on him? He asked for pomegranate juice, something she always tried to get him to drink. I can’t imagine it’s his son, because he know about his son before and made no changes. It’s a shame that Violet was “taken care of”, the monarchy would have been better with her around.
Even though the big reveal was a let down, we got a whole lot of Jasper this week.
Jasper and Eleanor had a great moment together. Eleanor has always been insecure and she’s realizing it, but she doesn’t know how to break free of it. It was great watching her help Imogen. She’s stronger than she could ever know.
Jasper was just heartbroken listening to her. He didn’t know what to say, except he wanted to see her. Is she keeping him around because she’s afraid to let go? She definitely still has feelings for him. Will solving her father’s murder do anything to repair their relationship?
