Now that all players have been introduced, Notorious got down to business. Last week’s premiere was so much, this week we got a lot of depth. There’s a lot more than just a fun show here.
Julia may be spinning the news, but she’s also looking for the truth. Even if she doesn’t always let her viewers in on that truth.
To be fair, she made the right call with that mother. As a journalist, I do believe you should report the facts but in this case, it was right not to shine a light on the real story.
The woman may have done the wrong thing but she did it for the right reasons and Julia saw that.
It didn’t take long for us to find out who sent Julia that picture. She has connections in all the right places and she doesn’t waste any time.
I’m not sure if she made the right call when it came to Ryan. I get that she may be protecting the show and the network but what if he knows more about the murder? He was there at the scene, he may know something.
Ryan was intriguing last week, but he just got a lot more interesting. It didn’t surprise me when they discovered who sent the photo because he is doing his best to get the story for Julia. But it’s intriguing that he was in the right place at the right time.
It was very strange when he was in Julia’s office and acted like it was nothing. Then he had that whole speech about Julia standing up to his dad and he wanted to be more like her. I want to believe that speech is genuine and maybe it is, but there’s so much more to this boy. I’m very curious to learn more about him.
Julia is becoming more intriguing too. She has so many layers to her. She’s super executive producer bringing in the stories and the ratings. She’s a truth seeker, she’s loyal and she’s savvy.
I know Julia and Jake aren’t a couple but they are a perfect match. She found out the truth about the mother and she knew there was something up with the woman’s story. Jake purposely got Oscar arrested. I had a feeling he planned that but then it was great that he got to make a statement for him, plus Oscar gets to sober up. It was just too perfect. This is the kind of lawyer you want on your side. You definitely don’t want to be facing him.
Jake has more depth to him than he showed in the premiere. He has many layers to him as well, which makes these two even more perfect for each other.
Plus, they are pretty honest with each other. They may not come out and say it right away but eventually they come clean. That’s more honest than some couples are to each other. This is going to be a very interesting relationship to watch.
As for the murder, with Jake and Julia running the investigation in their own ways, it may be hard to uncover the truth. We might be able to put together the pieces because we will watch both of them put the pieces together but looks like the police will only be let in when it’s to one of their advantages.
This is going to be an interesting season.
