Priyanka Chopra is just as bad ass in person as she is on screen. She owned the red carpet at PaleyFest in a stunning dress, just like she owns the screen.
I got to speak with Priyanka about her character Alex and the crazy journey she’s taking this season.
Last year Alex was framed for a terrorist attack and this year she’s put right in the middle of it. I spoke to the actress about what Alex’s biggest challenge is going to be this season.
She said she has to remember that she can do something about it and not be afraid like she was last year.
“This time, she’s angry and she’s like, I’m done playing fair. Stop doing this to my country all the time and I’m going to take charge and fix this,” she said.
On Sunday night’s episode, Shelby called Alex out on being a sucker for a sad story. This is very true of Alex but she’s also been right about some of those sad stories in the past.
Alex doesn’t like criticism and Priyanka thinks she’ll be defensive about it and it’s bound to mess with her mind. Alex does have good instincts, though, she was a big part of stopping the final terrorist attack in season one. Either the actress doesn’t know what’s in store for Léon or her instincts were just off on him because of his sob story. Only time will tell.
Sunday’s episode also showed a rift in Alex and Ryan’s relationship with Ryan siding with Alex and then going back on it. Priyanka is reassuring us that their relationship is stronger than last year, despite that they enviable break-up in the future.
“Last season they were so juvenile, they broke up after every, they were just like ‘I don’t want to talk to you, I don’t want to talk to you,’ but this time they’re engaged. They’re taking their adult relationship very seriously,” she said.
Maybe this can give us hope that whatever breaks the two of them apart for the moment, they can find their way back to each other.
If you weren’t aware already, Priyanka does her own stunts and she loves it. She’s done a lot of action movies in India and said she’s trained by the best people in the business.
“It’s like dancing to me,” she said of doing the stunts.
