Butch is getting beaten up left and right. I’ve lost count on how many times this guy has been down and out.
I spoke to Drew Powell on the PaleyFest red carpet about how rough things have been for Butch.
“Poor old Butch, man. I’ll say this, beginning of season two Danny Cannon, one of our executive producers and directors, he said the thing about Butch is, he’s a survivor. And I think that’s really been true all the way through the series but particularly in season two and season three,” he said.
No matter what, Drew said, Butch figures out how to get out of his bad spot and he thinks it will be interesting to see how he gets out of this rough patch.
Butch was tricked in this week’s episode and it’s not because he wanted power. According to the actor, he knows his strengthens are “playing just under the surface and in the shadows cause he knows Gotham, he grew up in Gotham.” That being said, he also wants respect and he was in a place where he felt he was being pushed out.
“Moving forward, I will be very curious to see what the fans think of where Butch is going cause it’s going to be very interesting,” Drew said.
He has no idea if Butch will get his revenge but thinks Gotham is “good at paying off some of those moments” and has an idea of what’s coming.
