Nothing too crazy has happened in this final season of The Vampire Diaries. That is until, now. It was a pretty run of the mill episode. Everyone acting just as they always act. Including, Stefan, acting as Ripper Stefan. Sure we were on the edge of our seats wondering if Elena was going to be okay. If you’ve seen Nina Dobrev’s Instagram posts, you know she’s headed back to Mystic Falls, which means, Elena makes it out of this episode alive. The writers were still doing a good job at keeping us on the edge of our seats, though.
It wasn’t until the last, not even five minutes, of the episode that classic Julie Plec came out. First, Enzo gets killed and then Stefan gets the cure?! Yes, I had to put a question mark there because while I never saw Enzo getting killed, I definitely never saw Stefan taking the cure. What does that mean for the rest of the series? Caroline has been trying to save Stefan so she can be with him and now he’s going to be human. Does this mean Steroline is no longer the end game? Come on now, Julie, are you really going to do that to us? You’re flipping the script completely with only five more episodes left. I just always believed that Stefan would find his way back to Caroline.
With how many people have died and come back to life on this show, I guess we couldn’t have expected anything less from the last season. It makes me wonder who will come out alive in the end. Are we headed for a happy ending or deadly ending? I’m definitely scared for the last of the episodes now.
When Bonnie and Enzo first got together, I hated it. I didn’t see it. Now I get it and I love them. He gave her clues even while under the siren’s spell and didn’t even think twice about taking the cure for her. I love that he gave her a neckless with his blood to keep her safe when he wasn’t there. While he was laying there decaying, I was thinking, he was worried about her, who was worried about him?
Did anyone see that wave that came out of Bonnie when she screamed? Is that her magic coming back? Am I reaching? It almost seems fitting that she would become a witch again. Something definitely happened there and it wasn’t just her enormous amount of pain.
I’ve always gone back and forth on liking Matt. Sometimes it never seemed like he belonged and now he’s finally getting his own family history and it’s playing right into all the events leading up to the end. It’s about time he got his own family history. Now we just have to see how his family history will help save the day or take everyone down.
