There’s a lot of pain and misery going on in Mystic Falls right now. If Julie Plec’s plan was to make us terrified of how it’s all going to end, she’s doing a really good job. I really have no idea how it will end. We know there’s a death coming but it could be anyone of them at this point. Is there a happy ending to The Vampire Diaries or was it always going to end in disaster?
There’s a lot of doom and gloom going on but it was nice having Kai back, even if he is causing some of that doom and gloom. I forgot how much fun he was to have around. It’s such a twisted feeling to hate what the villain is doing to your favorite characters but to love having them on the screen at the same time. That’s what Klaus and Kai have done. And the fact that both Joseph Morgan and Chris Wood are such sweet guys in person, makes their on-screen portrayals even better. But enough about me swooning over these two villains, a lot happened in this episode.
I never really thought Elena would be brought back to life in this episode. Plans never go right and it’s a few episodes too soon for Nina Dobrev to make her appearance. There was little hope in me that she would come back, so good job Julie for the little tease.
Kai “owns” his badness, which is pretty cool. It means we can have a lot more fun with him in the final episodes but it also means that we have more than just the devil to deal with. We really do have enough to deal with.
Even without her powers, Bonnie is still powerful. No surprise there. I would have never expected her to be as powerful as to open another dimension, though. Crazy thought here, is there any way we can make sure Stefan and Damon end up in her dimension, instead of hell? I’m sure her’s would be a lot better. I’m still hoping wherever the two Salvatores end up, it’s won’t be for a while. Stefan has had two close calls, two episodes in a row. I’m getting very worried that he may be the one that dies in the end. It’s also becoming harder to tell if Steroline will actually be the end game. It doesn’t surprise me that Stefan wants to go off and brood on his own but it’s breaking my heart to think these two won’t have their happy ending.
If all of that wasn’t enough to deal with, the twins can’t control their powers. Is that because of the bell, the devil walking the earth or Kai? There are so many options to what’s going on with them.
Too many problems and only three episodes left. How is Julie going to wrap everything up?
