I was enjoying being on the edge of my seat watching Gordon be a double agent but at the end of the day, he can’t do the hard things to stay with it until the end.
There’s a lot of talk about this darkness inside of Gordon (Ben McKenzie) and really that’s a misnomer. He may have darkness inside him from everything he’s been through but at the end of the day, he’s a really good guy. He couldn’t let all those people be infected by the virus and he had to out himself to save the day, yet again. He did try to keep his cover by calling Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor) for help. And I absolutely love that he called Oswald for help. I love this bromance. Oswald thinks of Gordon more kindly than Gordon does of him but they do come to each other for help a lot.
Penguin made it there in the nick of time but not in time for Gordon to keep his cover. Jim was never really a good double agent. He didn’t take the precautions he needed. He can’t be leaving Katherine’s house and calling Harvey (Donal Logue) right away. He has to get away from the house before he makes that call, even if time is an issue. Gordon really just doesn’t have what it takes to be a double agent.
If only Lee (Morena Baccarin) would see what a good guy he is. She’s in such a dark place that she can’t see that Gordon is trying to protect her. In her defense, I understand why she feels the way she does. Gordon killed her fiance and now he, and everyone else, is keeping things from her. Even if it is for her safety. But you know what, she’s a tough woman, she can handle the truth and she can even help. Why didn’t any of them just tell her the truth? Now she’s left the GCPD and they’ve lost a vital part of their team. There’s been a lot of episodes of shows lately that the men haven’t been listening to the women and I keep having to ask, why don’t they listen to the women? In all those cases the women were right. Lee isn’t completely right now but she knew Gordon was involved somehow. My point is, she’s smart enough to help if they would just let her. I hate that she’s leaving the GCPD, we’ll have to see where she goes from here.
I had been waiting for the Penguin and Riddler (Cory Michael Smith) reunion. I’m not even sure how to take it. I think Oswald went to kill Nygma but at the same time, he just seemed relieved to see him again. But how are you supposed to react when you see the guy that you love that tried to kill you? I don’t think there is a right or wrong way to react, especially with these two.
The thing I was waiting for this week was to see what happened with Selina (Camren Bicondova). It seemed like she was becoming Catwoman way too fast. The scene of her falling off the roof and the cats all over her was definitely like how she turns into Catwoman but Ivy (Clare Foley) saving her is not. We’ll have to wait and see what effect this will have on her but one thing is for sure, she’s in love with Bruce (David Mazouz). We knew that already, though. She may not want to admit it but her actions speak for themselves. She almost died and the moment she wakes up she’s going to see Alfred (Sean Pertwee) to tell him Bruce is missing and there’s an imposter in his place. If that doesn’t say, love, I don’t know what does.
Gordon may have thwarted this attack but now he’s going to have Barnes (Michael Chiklis) coming after him. How do Jim, Harvey and Fox (Chris Chalk) take down an infected Barnes? I hope Fox is deep in this to help them figure out a way to not only save themselves but cure Barnes too.
