I’ve missed Gossip Girl ever since it ended, so if the executive producers of the show are going to create a new show, I have to check it out. The trailer of Dynasty looks even more scandalous than the residents of the Upper East Side.
Fallon (Elizabeth Gillies) reminds me of a mixture of Serena in her bad girl phase and Blair. She’s ambitious and she knows how to party. I definitely felt a sting when she found out her new step-mom was going to be the COO of the family company. It looks like Fallon is going to use some of Blair’s tactics to take Cristal (Nathalie Kelley) down, only maybe a little more devious.
By the end of the trailer, it looks like there could be some depth to all of these characters. Characters are the biggest draw to me when it comes to getting hooked on shows. If I can’t fall in love with the characters, I can’t fall in love with the show.
I’ve never seen the original Dynasty, so I don’t know the storyline. From the very beginning of the trailer, I did see a lot of Gossip Girl shining through. That’s enough to get me to watch at least a few episodes. Then if I can fall in love with the characters, I’ll be adding a new show to my roster.
