When Pretty Little Liars ended, I wondered how I would fill that void. Little did I know, Freeform already had the answer for me, The Bold Type. We all loved the mystery of ‘A’ but when you really think about it, what was the best thing about PLL? It was the friendship. From the first two episodes, I can tell that The Bold Type has that same sort of bond.
The new series is based on the women at Cosmopolitan magazine. There are some serious squad goals in this show, boss goals and just life goals. Is it really possible to have such a cool boss and to work with your best friends? It seems like it’s possible at Scarlet magazine (the faux name that the writers came up with).
We have three very different type of women. Jane (Katie Stevens), who is very innocent and finally get a chance to live her dream as a writer for the magazine. She’s not like most of the other women. She hasn’t had an orgasm and she’s not interested in what most of the other women at the magazine are interested in. She’s great because so many people will relate to her. We’re not all living our best lives but we’re all working on it.
Kat (Aisha Dee), a fearless woman who has been thrown for a loop by an amazing woman that she just can’t figure out.
There’s bound to be someone that you relate to on this show, even it’s not the three main ladies. I can’t wait to see these three ladies grow and go after their dreams together.
When PLL ended, I also wondered where I would get my fashion inspiration from. The Bold Type has got me covered there too. Each lady has their own style, just like the liars did and I’m looking forward to seeing what they wear every week. I have my fashion inspiration back!
We’re only two episodes in and I’m already hooked. That doesn’t happen very often. Even some of my favorite shows took me a few episodes to get into it. I’m ready for this new journey these ladies!
