I have very mixed feelings about this episode of Arrow. It’s not the first time Oliver has been in danger of being found out but other than the who tried to out him, what was the point?
No surprise that Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) and Curtis (Echo Kellum) were able to save Oliver’s (Stephen Amell) ass again. Not that the FBI is backing down but at least most of the city no longer believes he’s the Green Arrow. Was the whole point of him almost being found out to show that Slade (Manu Bennett) was right, there would come a time when he would have to choose between the Green Arrow and his son? Looks like he’s making that decision now. He doesn’t want to be the Green Arrow anymore, which has me freaking out. There is no show without him. This can’t last for very long, especially seeing as John (David Ramsey) isn’t even fit for the field.
We finally got let in on what happened to John on the island. He has nerve damage. Will he ever be able to shoot properly again? I think he could figure out how to fight another way. Athletes have to figure out how to play differently after an injury, why not him? He can’t be the Green Arrow, no offense, John. First, he’s keeping a big secret from the team. Yeah, I realize Oliver does it all the time but this is a little bit different. John’s secret left Rene (Rick Gonzalez) in the hospital. Second, the Green Arrow is Oliver, period.
There’s kind of been an ongoing joke about what they do for jobs and Curtis finally brought it up. At least he’s been freelancing on the side, Felicity and John don’t work. I’m very excited for Felicity and Curtis to be starting a business together. That means more screen time for them together and I love them together. If I can’t have 24/7 Olicity, I will happily take Felicity and Curtis scenes. Maybe this is where Felicity gets a proper storyline this season. I know we are only one episode in but she needs one.
