I used to love horror movies but they don’t scare me anymore. I realized one day the reason that they don’t scare me anymore is because I’m not invested in the characters. This season of Riverdale is freaking me out by putting all the characters in danger. That’s what it takes to scare me these days.
There’s a killer on the loose and Archie (K.J. Apa) has decided he’s going to lead an army to find him. It started out just as watchdogs and fair enough but now he’s delved into something bigger because of Hiram (Mark Consuelos). I hate but I am also intrigued with Veronica’s dad. What’s his endgame? He’s clearly up to no good in general but why is he so invested in what Archie is doing? I just don’t get it.
We’re seeing an interesting side of Veronica (Camila Mendes) this season. At first, she was standing up against her parents and now she’s believing what they say. She’s being way too naive. I think she’s starting to wake up now but what is she going to do when she finds out her dad is playing her? I like Veronica and I think this season we will see what she’s really made of because she’s going to be tested.
Kevin (Casey Cott) had a real wake-up call and I freaked out. I thought the writers had really killed him off. I love Betty (Lili Reinhart) for telling his dad. I know he’s mad but this is life and death. She doesn’t care about what he was doing in the woods, she cared about what could happen to him the woods. She’d rather have him hating her than be dead. That’s a good friend. Betty is the kind of friend we all need.
I liked the way Jughead (Cole Sprouse) started his new school. He was going to continue to be the loner and he got the school paper back up and running but then he got beat up. He can’t be his usual self here and I hate that he lied to Betty. I hate that he has to join the serpents to be safe. This is why this girl has a chance to come between him and Betty. He can be more honest with her than he can be with Betty.
Last week I had a Zodiac deja vu and this week it kept coming. Not only did the killer send a letter, he also sent belongings. This is getting serious. I guess we can at least be thankful that there wasn’t another death this week.
