I’ve been watching Nashville since day one and even though I am behind at the moment, I’m still sad that the show is coming to an end.
There was always just the right amount of drama mixed with great characters and great music. But I knew when Connie Britton left, the show’s days were numbered. It’s funny that I say this because Rayna was not my favorite character. I loved her character and I especially loved her on again, off again, romance with Deacon (Charles Esten). I always loved Gunnar (Sam Palladio), Scarlett (Clare Bowen), Avery (Jonathan Jackson), Will (Chris Carmack) and Deacon. I was lucky enough to even meet Sam, Jonathan, Chris and Charles after Nashville concerts in New York. Sam, Johnathan and Charles I even met twice. I definitely believe that being able to see them perform live was the highlight of this entire series. It was like the show come to life. I’m hoping they will have one more tour after the show wraps.
If you are caught up with the series, please forgive me as I reminisce and you might know something that I don’t and please no spoilers.
I’ve wanted Gunnar and Scarlett together since day one and I hope they are the endgame. Where I’m at in season five, they are having some pretty hard times. Scarlett is having another man’s baby but they are going to do it together. I want them together so badly but I don’t feel like they are fitting together at that point in the season. I’m hoping that from there to the end, the writers can write them together beautifully.
Scarlett and Gunnar have been great characters since day one but I didn’t like Avery at first. He’s grown a lot and he’s become such a great person. He’s influenced Juliette (Hayden Panettiere) a lot. She still does bad things but now she’s hesitant or at least feels very guilty when she’s done something bad. I’m wondering if she will tell Maddie (Lennon Stella) that she stole her song. Now you know where I am in season five.
The one good thing about killing off Connie was getting to see more of the girls and their character growth. To be fair, Maddie’s character was growing before this but now Daphne (Maisy Stella) is too. I hope these two beautiful young ladies get a wonderful ending to their stories.
In a drama series, not everyone can have a happy ending but I hope they have beautiful ending even if the ending is tragic. I do think some of them deserve to have a happy ending after all the tragedy in their lives. I’ll have to catch up so I can see how Nashville will end. And so I can live tweet with the show before it comes to an end. I’ve had some great times live tweeting this show. I may be behind but that doesn’t mean I haven’t enjoyed this show. I even signed the position for the show to be renewed for season five.
I’m sad that I lost touch with this show but excited to see how it all ends.
