It took me a long time to warm up to the team because I loved the original Team Arrow. I guess I should have really been careful what I wished for because now we’re in the thick of it and could really use the numbers.
Oliver (Stephen Amell) spent the entire episode pushing forward believing that because they started as three that they could handle this. He was forgetting one key thing, John (David Ramsey) was still not fit for the field. He kept going back out there solo and had some really close calls. I’m very happy Oliver is back out in the field but he’s only human and there’s only so many enemies he can take on at once. It’s not like he’s one of the Original vampires. Klaus and Elijah can handle numerous enemies at once but they are also immortal and have superpowers. I was so relieved at the end when John could finally suit up again. I don’t know if two of them will be enough, though. This enemy has always been two steps ahead.
We’ve known Cayden (Michael Emerson) was surveilling them for a while now but I really felt the tension when Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) and John were first discovering it. His plan this entire time was split them apart and he did just that. Felicity can see that but Curtis (Echo Kellum), Rene (Rick Gonzalez) and Dinah (Juliana Harkavy) can’t see it. They are playing right into Cayden’s hands. I don’t think they will last very long out in the field without Oliver. I’m not saying what Oliver did was right but they are stronger together than apart.
I think that if Oliver had said it wouldn’t be the same and maybe said they’d regain each other’s trust, Team B may have joined forces again. That’s where the talk went south. It won’t be the same. How could it be? They do have to rebuild trust.
The worst part about all of this is Felicity and Curtis are on the outs too. Sure, they still have their company but they just aren’t the same. I love their chemistry and until Curtis forgives Felicity, their scenes are just not going to be the same.
Does anyone think Thea (Willa Holland) is acting weird? At first, I didn’t think anything of it I was just so happy to have her back even though what I’m really waiting for is her to be Speedy again. I really enjoyed her talk with Lance (Paul Blackthorne) It was very heartwarming and what he really needed. But then she went back and said Laurel can be saved. I don’t believe this Laurel can be saved. She’s all about killing and maiming people. This is not his daughter and even though they have the same face, he needs to figure out a way to disconnect himself from her. I know that’s a lot easier said than done but he can’t go down this rabbit hole. There was also just something odd about how Thea told Oliver to go get them. He was just being told not to go out alone but she had no problem letting him go out there. Am I reading too much into this or is there something up with Miss Queen? She was in a coma for six months. We can’t expect her to wake up back to normal after that.
