It’s been a long time since we’ve seen our beloved characters of Gotham and this episode was definitely about people being reunited.
The episode starts with Jim (Ben McKenzie) trying to find Harvey (Donal Logue). I think that’s fitting because it’s the best bromance in the whole show and it’s sad that they are at odds at the moment. Not that Harvey doesn’t have very valid points about Jim but neither one of them have always done the right thing when trying to protect Gotham but their hearts are in the right place. There were so many reunions this episode and the one that tore me up the most was Harvey and Jim. They are a long way from making up and we need them to make up. They are great partners and they need to work together.
We’ve also been waiting a long time for Lee (Morena Baccarin) and Jim to reunite. They finally did and it was anticlimactic. Jim was surprised to see Lee there but he had too many things going on to really get into it. I definitely think dealing with Harvey was a big distraction. Maybe if Harvey and him were not on the outs, he could have talked to Lee a little more.
I guess the best reunion in some ways was Butch (Drew Powell) and Tabitha (Jessica Lucas). She really did help him remember who he is. Now he has to deal with who he’s become. So, while I said best, it still wasn’t the happiest but I am glad to have Butch back. Not that Grundy wasn’t fun.
Selina (Camren Bicondova) and Bruce (David Mazouz) were also reunited and she was very surprised with what she found. It’s hurting me to see Bruce like this. He’s better than this and he has people who care about him.
Selina didn’t have long to deal with that because Ivy (Peyton List) shows up. She’s been missing for a while and I’m happy we finally know what happened to her. I’m not so sure how I feel about Ivy. If show joins forces with Selina, Tabitha and Barbara (Erin Richards), I’m all for it. But I definitely don’t want them to start a separate group.
I feel the worst for Alfred (Sean Pertwee) at the moment. While he’s going to beat the suspicion of murder, he would never have been in that position if Bruce hadn’t of fired him.
Could we be seeing the return of the Ed (Cory Michael Smith) we know and love? He’s having split personalities just like he had before he became the Riddler. Not that I haven’t been enjoying Ed this season but I do miss the old him. He did save Lee this week, even if it was him that put the hit on her.
My only complaint about this episode was that we didn’t see Oswald (Robin Lord Taylor). I know with so many characters we can’t see them in every episode but it’s been a while since we’ve seen Penguin and I miss him.
