We may have seen the story of the good guy turning evil before, Angel, Stefan, but for some reason, it sucks you in every time. You grieve for the girl and wonder how he will live with himself after all the bad he has done. And sometimes it’s fun watching the guy go bad. This time around, watching Jace go down this dark path, is anything but fun.
Each version of this story goes a little different. This time, the guy almost killed the girl. It always breaks my heart when the guy says he doesn’t care anymore, but when Jace (Dominic Sherwood) said he didn’t love her, and then just dropped Clary (Katherine McNamara) off the roof, my heart dropped. After everything Clary has been through, I’ve never seen her look so helpless. I’m happy she finally came clean, though. She should have come clean long before now. Maybe all of this could have been avoided. On the other hand, I loved when Alec (Matthew Daddario) hugged Clary and said he would have done the same thing. 
Clary wasn’t the only one feeling guilty for making Jace vulnerable and hiding it from them, Magnus (Harry Shum Jr.) had his own guilt. He wishes he went with his gut when he felt something off with Lilith. How was he to know, though? He helps people. That’s what he does. He’s doing everything he can now to save Jace. Clary is also doing everything she can, including getting arrested.
Malec has been on the rocks, but leave it to a crisis to put things into perspective. I’m glad they’ve made up, but they also needed to get through their first fight. They haven’t been together that long, and even though they already love each other, they’re still getting to know each other.
The Jace storyline wasn’t the only thing that was putting us through a major roller coaster. We finally got the Maia (Alisha Wainwright) backstory. Each week I love her character even more, so I was very happy to be learning more about her. We already knew that the wolf that turned her abandoned her, but we didn’t know who it was. Kyle (Chai Hansen) had something else that he was hiding. He was Maia’s ex and the wolf that turned her. I was so mad at him, but now I understand what happened. He was a newbie wolf and didn’t know how to handle being a wolf, let alone helping her get through turning. Not that that makes it right, I just get it. They also really loved each other. Could Maia making Kyle stay on Simon’s (Alberto Rosende) case be the end of Simon and Maia? Kyle and Maia clearly still have feelings for each other. Can Simon and Maia withstand that? I guess the only thing we were missing was a good love triangle. Let the twitter wars begin.
