What more could we want from having Wynonna Earp back than Wynonna wearing a face mask and suit while looking for id cards on zombies to save Nicole, and also Waverly and Doc fighting Eve and our favorite ships getting reunited? It’s everything we’ve been waiting for.
The great one-liners were flying around as Wynonna (Melanie Scrofano) and Rachel (Martina Ortiz-Luis) navigated their way through a building of zombies trying to save Nicole (Katherine Barrell), but also trying not to get killed themselves. The one-liners have to be one of my favorite parts of the show. Buffy’s one-liners were also a hit on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, which is a show I compare Wynonna Earp to. Wynonna is like the R rated version of Buffy. Which means, the one-liners are more graphic and even funnier.
The one-liners make the fight scenes more fun since they are funny as well as exciting. The writers make you worry just enough, but the characters always save the day just in the knick of time.
I’m not complaining at all that the first two episodes have been a lot of fan services after the series was off the air for two years.
We also got our favorite ships reunited. I love that it took Wynonna saying her and Doc’s (Tim Rozon) safeword to get him to know she was really her and not Eve.
The writers may have only left our minds to imagine the kind of kinky sex that Doc and Wynonna have, but they gave us a steamy reunion of Waverly (Dominique Provost-Chalkley) and Nicole. It was pure love and passion before Nicole said yes to Waverly’s proposal. Can it can any better than this?
We got a brief moment of pure content before we find out that Waverly, Doc, and Wynonna have been gone over 18 months, and the town is a mess. What happened while they were in the garden? The remnants are gone, how could the city fall apart like that? Wynonna is clearly the protector of Purgatory, and her absence made a difference.
Now that we have Waverly and Doc back, we can get down to business for this season, but I hope they keep all the great one-liners and couple moments coming. Season four has been a lot of fun so far.
Martina is also a great addition to the cast and will fit in well. Especially after her comment about Wynonna being weirder than her when her best friend was a rat for six months.
