The Flight Attendant has been a mind warp. It’s been a murder mystery mixed with mental health. And it had such a satisfying ending, but I want so much more! And it’s just been announced that it’s been renewed for a second season!
It was insane that Miranda (Michelle Gomez) and Cassie (Kaley Cuoco) teamed up to take down Felix (Colin Woodell). It may have gotten rid of Felix but would not have cleared Cassie’s name in the end.
And, of course, things did not go as planned. But that’s why this show is so much fun.
Miranda went after Victor (Ritchie Coster) and got shot, but she still managed to get on a plane to Rome, even if she was running a little behind. I fell in love with Miranda on her flight to Rome when she told the passenger how she has never done anything selfless, but here she is while her leg is bleeding, going to help Cassie out of her mess.
There really is just something about Cassie. She drives you nuts, but you always go back to her.
I also enjoyed the moment between Cassie and Megan (Rosie Perez) when they were finally honest with each other. And I feel for Megan. Not being seen is hard. It’s why we should always be nice to people. We don’t know what they are going through.
Cassie took things into her own hands when Miranda wasn’t there. She pulled the cute Italian waiter in for a gun, and when she saw a sign of trouble, she didn’t even run for it at first. It was an exciting entrance by Felix, though, just like his one at the airport. I think Cassie should have kissed him then, instead of pretending he attacked her. Keep the rouse for a little bit longer.
She did pretty well against a trained assassin. This is why this show is so much fun. We get taken out of our crappy reality to one where a flight attendant can discover that much evidence and take on a killer.
I definitely was not expecting Shane (Griffin Matthews) to be working with the CIA. I guess all those calls Kim (Merle Dandridge) made was to find some way to save Cassie, and since they had someone right in the building, he went in. It was quite an incredible rescue. That no one saw coming.
After taking out the assassin, the show wrapped things up quite nicely.
I’m glad Annie (Zosia Mamet) and Cassie have worked things out. And I loved that she was working with the cops to help save her. I love Kim because she knew all along it wasn’t Cassie. She stood by her gut, and it was right. It was crazy when Annie saw Buckely on a camera from Bangkok. If Annie weren’t there, they would have never been able to put the pieces together.
I also loved that Miranda took the money but left the book for Cassie. Alex (Michiel Huisman) never finished his sentence, but I think what he was going to say was she wasn’t falling in love with him. She was falling in love with herself. And she needed to do that to help herself.
The finale just came together so nicely. It was intense. It was emotional. It was realizational. And Davey (T.R. Knight) came to help his sister. And who knows what he thought after he found out all Cassie went through. This was the rock bottom she needed. She had so much childhood trauma to work through, and this forced her to.
This surprisingly had more depth than I thought it would. It was a fun, wild, and crazy ride, but it really looked at mental health on that journey. Kaley was amazing as she deciphered the clues to clear her name and worked on all the shit that was going on in her head. There was a lot of emotional range there.
While The Flight Attendant did wrap up everything, it still left the door open. But she’s recovering now. Will another season be as fun without her drunken escapades and her working through stuff? Only time will tell.
