We finally have a premiere date for the last ten episodes of Teen Wolf and a new teaser trailer but it doesn’t give us much of a glimpse into what the final episodes will hold. MTV also announced that the show will be returning to San Diego Comic-Con one last time! Maybe we’ll get more information then, ten days before the premiere.
According to TVLine, Linden Ashby says there will be a lot of deaths in the final episodes. That shouldn’t really come as too much of a surprise, it is a supernatural show after all. But that does mean the final episodes will be very emotional.
“It’s a really cool season, and yes, a lot of people actually do die,” Linden told TVLine. “It’s really about fear and people coming together in different camps, and it’s about intolerance. It’s about a lot of things that are pretty current right now. I think it’s going to be good.”
That gives us a little bit of an insight into what the final episodes could hold. One thing is for sure, it will look different than the previous seasons because they are no longer in high school.
It’s hard to finish out a series. Fans have expectations and they have hopes for each of the characters and ships. Teen Wolf has done the ships very differently than other shows. It took almost the entire series for Stydia to get together. Their love was always there but it took them a while to come together. As for Scott (Tyler Posey), he’s had relationships but it’s never been the dominate thing. The story has been more about two best friends, Stiles (Dylan O’Brien) and Scott.
That brings us to the big questions floating around the internet, will Dylan be returning for the final episodes. Everyone seems to be very scared that he won’t be. Could he be one of the death’s Linden was referring to? We can’t really end Teen Wolf without Stiles. He was missing for a good portion of the first half of season six but he was still there and we ended season 6A with him. He has to be in the last ten, especially the last episode. I know he’s off doing bigger and better things now but he has to come back to finish the series, right?
We’ll be going into these final episodes very nervous, constantly wondering who will die and how much if any Dylan will be featured. All we can hope for is a great final season that says goodbye to the characters we love. Even if they die, they have to have a good send off.
Teen Wolf will appear at SDCC on July 20 and the final episodes will premiere Sunday, July 30 at 8/7c pm on MTV. Check out the teaser trailer. We’ve been warned: “Be Afraid.”
