The twists and turns this season have been absolutely insane, and Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa gave us one more on the midseason finale.
I was very thankful to see that Betty (Lili Reinhart) wasn’t in the bad state we thought she was when last saw her. She played the sisters very well. I still can’t believe that anyone could send their children there. No wonder Polly is how she is. That place really messes you up.
Betty not only saved herself, but she also saved everyone else there. Of course, as Ethel (Shannon Purser) said, what are they going to do with them now?
Betty wasn’t the only one taking things into her own hands. Veronica (Camila Mendes) wasn’t going to let her parents win. I commend her for what she did and I love seeing her almost outsmart her parents, but Hiram (Mark Consuelos) is always two steps ahead. He thinks very quick on his feet. You can’t just prove the CDC didn’t visit Riverdale High, you have to also find out who did an why. Betty learned the hard way during her investigation, and the second time around she got it right. What will Veronica’s next move be?
I did really love seeing Veronica and Cheryl (Madelaine Petsch) team up. It never matters who Cheryl teams up with, it’s always great.
Looks like Choni is moving in together! With everything else going on in Riverdale right now, we needed some good news. It was so cute that Toni (Vanessa Morgan) is the big spoon!
While everything was falling apart in Riverdale, we got to meet Jughead’s (Cole Sprouse) mom, Gladys (Gina Gershon) and sister, JellyBean (Trinity Rose Likins), or JB as she likes to be called. I wasn’t sure what to expect from Gladys but she is one tough lady. It’s too bad we don’t have her around more. Seems like she could solve a problem or two. JB is quite tough too and she has a serious crush on Archie (K.J. Apa). While the rest of our hearts are breaking because of Varchie, she’s jumping for joy.
It was very strange seeing Archie with brown hair. It broke my heart to see him say bye to his dad. But it won’t be forever. He might be better off walking into the woods right now. Riverdale isn’t safe right now.
How are Jug and FP (Skeet Ulrich) going to get back in town? Every section can’t be blocked off, there has to be a way.
I’m not sure what was more disturbing the fact that Hiram got the governor on board to quarantine Riverdale or that the Gargoyle King was in his office. I’m nervous and excited to see what happens next.
