We’re in a time when it feels like fashion, and what we wear doesn’t matter because we aren’t in offices or going out. But it does. What we wear can make us feel good and confident, and that’s important at any time. If you have an important meeting at work, the blouse you where can change the whole dynamic of your presentation, even on a screen.
The Bold Type has returned to help us with our fashion inspiration. We’ve always swooned over these ladies’ looks, but we may look at the pieces that Jane, Sutton, and Kat wear a little differently now since, at the moment, we’ll be wearing them for Zoom meetings.
Sutton was on-trend Thursday night with her metallic floral pleated blouse from Mango. It’s the perfect blouse for a Zoom meeting. Wearing great colors will make you stand out, and people will take notice. If you’ve ever heard of wearing a scarf or statement necklace to stand out at a networking event, that applies here too, but you have to do it a little differently. You don’t want something too distracting, but you want people to take notice. A colorful floral blouse is a great way to go. It’s not too bold but will make you stand out. Plus, it’s so stylish that you’ll feel confident. Lucky for us, it’s not too pricy. Get it from Mango for $80.
Jane also wore a floral look, a red mock neck dress by Saloni. If you want to splurge, you can score the exact dress for $570 on Farfecth. If this is a little out of your budget, get this similar dress for $52. You’ll still feel great, and you’ll be bringing a summer vibe to your meetings.
If you’re looking for something more professional but with style, Jane’s Jezebel metallic tweed double-breasted blazer by Elie Tahari may be precisely what you are looking for. Blazers always scream professional, and the gold tweed brings a feminine sophistication to the look.
Stealing this exact look from Jane may be a bit of an investment. It’s $260, and you can get it here, but if you are looking for something a little more budget-friendly, this similar metallic tweed blazer will do just the trick, and it’s only $45.
Even Jacqueline brought Zoom style inspiration to this episode with her belted checked woven peplum blouse. It should come to no surprise that her tastes are pricey. Get the exact top she wore for $400 from Net-a-Porter. Checked shirts are always a great professional option. They’re classy and sophisticated. If you don’t want to break the bank but want this look, there are many options in this style with a less hefty price tag.
Kat didn’t exactly give us work wardrobe inspiration in the premiere, but she did give us cute at home looks that we have to steal. She was super cute in the Ben Taverniti™ Unravel Project two-tone sweater and the Alice + Olivia low-rise tie-dye bell-bottom jeans. Score the exact top here for $600 or try a similar one for $50. The jeans are sadly sold out, but you can get a similar pair from ASOS for only $30!
It may be a little too hot to cozy up at home in sweaters, but you can always have your loungewear ready for the fall!
