Just after news broke that Daniel Sharman landed a role on a CBS pilot and probably unlikely to return to ‘The Originals’, Maisie Richardson-Sellers has been cast on an ABC pilot. This makes it likely that she won’t be in New Orleans for too much longer.
When Daniel and Maisie took over the roles of Kol and Rebekah, I wasn’t sure about it. I hate when new actors take on roles of previous actors, but both Daniel and Maisie have done well playing the original siblings.
According to Deadline, Maisie has been cast in ‘Of Kings And Prophets’. The show “is described as an epic biblical saga of faith, ambition and betrayal as told through the eyes of a battle-weary king, a powerful and resentful prophet and a resourceful young shepherd on a collision course with destiny.” ‘The Originals’ actress will play the youngest child of King Saul.
The pilot is written by Adam Cooper and Bill Collage and will be directed by Jeffrey Nachmanoff.
At the moment Maisie is playing Rebekah Mikaelson/Eva Sinclaire, but I’m guessing Rebekah won’t be occupying Eva’s body for too much longer.
These actors are not spending to much time on ‘The Originals’ before they move on. Fans start to like them playing the originals and then they move on, leaving that original with no body or place in the world.
It will be sad to see her go, but I look forward to watching her in this new drama. Stay tuned to find out how successful this new ABC pilot will be.
Maisie will also be starring in “Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens” this year.
