For the most part this was a very quite return for The Royals. We’ve seen what Simon’s death had done to the Monarchy and his children and it’s not good. Everyone that touched him is broken. Well maybe not Cyrus, but he’s a completely different kind of broken.
Did Eleanor really get back into the palace to find out who killed her dad or just to go back to what she knows? She’s way to broken to do anything about her father’s death, but maybe she did it for Liam. He’s the one fighting, she’s completely lost her way.
Luckily for Eleanor, she had a ‘body guardian angel’ watching over her. Jasper screwed up, but maybe he did just what most of the people are doing on this show, he protected himself. Not saying it was right what he did, definitely not saying that at all, but he didn’t see any other way out of his predicament.
We spent most of last season hating Jasper and I don’t know about you, but I really ship Eleanor and Jasper now. Both of them are so screwed up. Jasper has found his way after breaking her heart. He’s now trying to protect Eleanor when it feels like no one else is. Not that I’m saying that Eleanor needs to rush in forgiving him, because she certainly does not. He needs to work for it.
I’m very interested in seeing Jasper and Liam team up. We never saw them together too much last season. Can we trust Jasper? I want to trust him, despite all of major mistakes, he’s been watching over Eleanor and Liam needs someone to trust at the moment when the whole palace is against him.
We still don’t know who Jasper is, British, American, friend or foe? I guess that’s what makes his character so interesting.
Eleanor may finally have someone she can trust. Beck is back and he’s left his wife. Can Eleanor do normal and stable though?
Queen Helena knows exactly who murdered her husband and son, but as her mother asked, what is she going to about it? If she’s afraid, I think we should all be afraid.
