Everything was done in the name of protecting family this week, Hope, Finn and Rebekah.
Rebekah was spotted and cornered by witches. They said she would die for what she’s done. Before they got a chance to killer her, Marcel swooped in and saved her. He said they should get out of there because there were more witches.
Rebekah was stunned that he knew who she was. She wanted to know how, but they didn’t exactly have time to discuss that.
Who exactly did Kol put Rebekah in? Marcel knew how to find out. There’s a witch Josephine that would know and he also had someone else to contact. Elijah said he would go see the witch, but she doesn’t like vampires and Elijah’s charm wouldn’t be enough.
Marcel was right. Elijah alone didn’t get them very far, just through the door. It was Gia’s honesty that got them to seal the deal. She hates Beethoven and prefers jazz and apparently Josephine fell in love with a jazz player once. Gia also told Josephine she could trust Elijah, which is true. He may be calculating, as the witch said, but he’s also loyal.
The deal was pretty reasonable. Elijah takes custody of Rebekah’s body and all he has to do is return Vincent Griffith, the body that Finn inhabits.
This seemed all pretty easy, until they found out who Rebekah was inhabiting.
Marcel’s seer friend came, but he didn’t do what he came to do. He knew who Rebekah was as soon as he came through the door, at least you can assume by what he did next. He gave Rebekah and Marcel tea to see who she was. Marcel wasn’t forthcoming either though. He didn’t tell him that an original was occupying the body, only that she had no memory of who she is.
Rebekah was in Eve Sinclair, a witch who had been killing children to channel her power. No wonder those other witches wanted her dead.
The tea was laced with jimson weed, a poison that has been killing people since medieval times. Lucky for Rebekah, she knew the anecdote.
After Marcel came to, there was a lot of flirting going on. Rebekah told Marcel that she didn’t want to tell him she was back while she was in that body. She also said she didn’t want to kiss him in her current body, but says she doesn’t want to kiss him anyways. Marcel doesn’t believe that she doesn’t want to kiss him.
It was nice to see them together, but it was short lived. After Rebekah took a nap she woke up as Eva and went out to kill children. What happened to Rebekah? Did the anecdote let Eva take back over? Now that Elijah has custody of the witch, he’ll have to figure out how to control her.
‘The Originals’ have always been a family affair and there was a lot of family drama going on. Freya wanted to be reunited with her father, even though Michael has become a monster. Finn couldn’t talk Freya out of talking to Michael.
It was a very emotional and touching reunion that may make you look at Michael in a whole knew light. It always seemed like he never loved his children, but he does. He was so happy to see his long lost daughter again.
Freya was also reunited with her brothers, Elijah and Klaus, but not before Klaus almost killed Finn.
It was a nice battle of Finn vs. Klaus, both are very powerful, but Klaus took the upper hand and just about killed Finn. Elijah showed up before Klaus could finish the job.
Elijah had made that deal with Josephine for the witch Vince, not that Klaus likes making deals.
Freya intervened and saved Finn yet again, but Finn was no longer in Vince’s body. I think he’s in her necklace now. She said he’s safe and that his hatred could no longer interfere with their cause.
Freya was never trying to kill Hope and said their mother had ruined Finn. She wants to kill Dahlia and has sent Michael for the items to do the job.
Klaus is furious that Michael is loose again and won’t accept his father or sister’s help in protecting his daughter.
Elijah on the other hand see’s a common goal, but doesn’t trust her. Freya is willing to earn Elijah’s trust.
Klaus is determined to use the wolves to protect Hope. He sent the pack out to search for Finn and Freya. His advice to Aiden actually saved the majority of the pack, there was only one causality.
I knew there was a reason Klaus was giving Aiden a tip, but I wasn’t sure what it was. They were seen later sitting together and Klaus telling Aiden that he should be the Alpha. That was his plan, taking control of the pack.
Klaus wanted to send the pack out after Michael, but Hayley didn’t want to sacrifice anymore wolves or to help him settle old scores. She was not happy with him trying to manipulate her and said if he tries it again, he won’t see her or their daughter again.
As I said, there was a lot of family drama this week, but there was some good too.
Jackson was keeping his distance and the awkward conversation of sex came up. Hayley was ready to dive in and then Hope woke up.
Hayley was having difficulty with Hope, but Jackson swooped in and helped. She initially didn’t want to take his help, she wanted every moment with her daughter.
Eventually they naturally had sex. This marriage is starting to be more real then what it started out to be.
While Hayley is moving forward with her marriage, Elijah is trying to move on too. While gaining alliances, he found something in Gia. I’m not sure if they slept together because they were trying to distract themselves from their unfruitful love lives or because there is something really there. Though I do have to say I did not see this coming. I usually see pairings before they happen, but this one was a surprise.
Next week Dahlia is coming and Rebekah is trying to deal with the angry witch inside her. Take a look at the promo:
