I’m loving the new feel of Gotham. It’s a lot more exciting than season one, not that the first season didn’t have its moments.
The city is getting worse and the writers are not afraid of killing off characters. I did not see Essen getting killed off. I was so happy she was the new commissioner, but I guess I shouldn’t have gotten too excited.
She would have actually made a difference. She wasn’t in the job long enough to make a difference though. It’s sad that Essen dying was what it took Bullock to come back, but I’m very happy he did. While I’m loving the new tone of the show, we had to have Bullock and Gordon back together. That was one of the best parts of the show.
Clearly Gordon is not going to be winning any of these battles anytime soon. Especially seeing as we know what Jerome, Oswald and Ed grow up to be.
The good guys seem to always fall for traps like these. Gordon was lured away by Barbara so the other maniacs could kill all off the GCPD. Buffy use to fall for this trick all the time. They all want to protect the people they love, so they go, not realizing that’s what hurts their loved ones.
I’m wondering how long Lee and Gordon can carry on strong when Gordon is still affected by what Barbara has done. Their relationship is still very new to begin with, can it survive a crazy ex-girlfriend, and I mean an actually crazy ex-girlfriend?
Crazy really does suit Barbara though. She’s looking good this season and as I said last week, her characters is so much more interesting now. I’m excited to see where her story will go.
I’m also very excited about Tabitha (Jessica Lucas). I was sad to see Fish go, but we’ve got a great female villain to fill her shoes. I hope we’ll be getting to see a lot more of Tabitha.
I love Oswald and Ed, especially Oswald. Penguin is one of my favorite villains on TV right now, Crowley being my other one. I was sad we didn’t get to see Oswald this week, but happy we did get to see a slight bit more of Ed. I really want them to expand on Ed’s character. I’ve liked him since the beginning and his psychotic side has had a very slow burn.
Jerome is quite amazing too. He’s definitely the craziest of all the maniacs and I love it! We can’t trust him at all and I don’t think we’ll ever know what he’s going to do next. His kill list may be short at the moment, but he’s going to be adding to it. As he said, “you ain’t seen nothing yet.”
Next week Gordon is going to have a very hard time saving the day, yet again:
