Fear is definitely something that has held me back before, and I would say I’m quite an ambitious person. I went to the university I wanted to go to, even though my parents said it was too expensive. I got my master’s degree in England and got to live close to my extended family, just like I always wanted to, and I moved to New York and got a job. For the most part, I’ve done everything I set out to do, but it wasn’t straight forward and none of it looks like the way I envisioned it. I’m not done yet but there are days when fear gets in the way.
Sutton (Meghann Fahy) and Kat (Aisha Dee) really needed to hear her speech. Sutton is embarking on a new dream but is having a rocky start. Not that Sutton’s journey has been easy by any means. I like that the writers have had her struggle and fight for what she wants. It makes her an inspiration. I loved when she didn’t get the money she wanted, so she negotiated for other things. It was such an incredible storyline.
Kat’s political storyline is taking a turn I didn’t see coming, though, halfway through this episode, I kind of saw it coming. She’s running on abortion. That’s a bold move. People have such strong and mixed feelings about it. This is a very different turn for the show to be taking, but I’m here for it. I would vote for Kat in a heartbeat.
Some people might be like how was it so difficult for her to tell them and now she’s going to tell the world? One, this is TV, so it moves at a quicker pace and two, after Jacqueline’s speech how are you not inspired to do what you were afraid of doing before?
Anyone who knows me knows how much I love my TV shows. When I’m down, there’s always a show that tells me what I need to hear at the time. It could be a new episode I’m watching or I could be in a binge of one my old time favorites, but they always come through. The Bold Type has somehow found a way to do that on a universal scale. Each episode has something inspirational that can speak to a lot of people. I love dramas but feel good, inspirational TV is so underrated and we need more of this in our life.
