We may have thought Katy, Josie, and Jorge had hit significant roadblocks, they all bounced back right away!
Nothing seems out of reach for these four. They follow their dreams, no matter what. It’s such an inspiration watching each week, and, sadly, season one has come to an end. I’m hoping there will be a second season because we need this kind of inspiration in our life, especially during these uncertain times.
And if inspiration isn’t enough for you, every character has an incredible style. The characters’ looks can prompt you to create Pinterest boards to give you ideas for when you can copy their looks for a night out or in the office when we get to go back.
While we may not be able to bounce back as quickly as them or wear their clothes, we can take to heart some of the things that they do.
Katy (Lucy Hale) got offered her dream job, but she turned it down because she couldn’t trust Guy (Luke Cook) anymore. That was a brave move that most people in her position would not have been able to do, but in the end, she got her dream of being accepted to Parsons.
It’s a lesson to us that doing the right thing is essential, and following our gut is vital. Katy got what she wanted, and she didn’t have to sacrifice her integrity to do so.
Jorge (Jonny Beauchamp) fought for his community and was able to save his family’s legacy and their home and many other people’s homes. It shows what the power of the community can do when they come together.
I was inspired by Josie (Ashleigh Murray) when she said she was upset that Xandra sang her song on the radio, but Josie will write more because she can. She knows her talent and knows that those weren’t the only songs in her. Josie even asked Pepper (Julia Chan) to be her manager! She’s finally going out after her dream on her terms.
It’s inspiring to watch them get knocked down and pick themselves up again.
As for Pepper, she started the season finale getting out of jail and then immediately helped Jorge with his rally and press and Katy with her fashion show. All on such short notice! And she did it on the up and up.
Pepper realized in the last episode that friendship is the most important thing to her and that she doesn’t have to lie and steal to be who she wants to be. While it was fun watching her life of con, I’m excited to see what’s next for her. She was left in a hotel lobby as a baby. But she managed to do so much with her life, despite that. It’s the hustle and persistence I respect. She’s had my favorite storyline to watch this season.
It may seem a little tone-deaf watching them live these fabulous lives. But I think it’s a great distraction from all the craziness. We need inspirational shows to help us remember our dreams and go after them.
It’s hard not to be motivated to go after what you want after watching these four work so hard for their dreams.
It was a magical first season, and I hope we get to continue watching Katy, Pepper, Jorge, and Josie chase their dreams. In the meantime, we can relive all the fun and fashion. It may take at least two watches to devour all the clothes.
