I’m so glad the Roswell, New Mexico writers put Michael Guerin undercover. He’s in his element, even if he doesn’t always trust himself. If this has to be the final season, I love that we get to see Michael excelling. And he’s so sexy while he’s doing it.
Maybe I should be nervous for Michael (Michael Vlamis), given how close to the enemy he’s getting, but I’m just enjoying every minute of it. Besides, he’s pretty powerful and can handle himself if he gets in a tight spot, which he did. He thought quickly and burned the surveillance ring that Jenna Cameron (Riley Voelkel) had given him. He even told them that he’s Jones’ son. He may have thought that he was jumping the gun, but as Eduardo Valenti (David DeSantos) said, that’s precisely what he should have done. He’s given them a reason to keep him alive. I loved the little pep talk Eduardo gave him. Undercover is definitely like playing poker. And in Michael’s case, he’s playing himself instead of a character like Cordell Walker was doing.
Michael being himself is what got Bonnie (Zoe Cipres) to trust him. Michael is a very charming guy. Maybe a little too charming since Bonnie misread the signals. Though, she hasn’t had anyone treat he with respect or care about what she’s going through. It’s been all about this higher purpose. Michael is the first one to help her understand who she is. Michael has been doing a lot of that over the Roswell series. He’s finally owning who he is, and he’s the point person on this mission. This is all I’ve wanted to see from him. He’s the smartest among him, Max Evans (Nathan Parsons) and Isobel Evans (Lily Cowles). He’s just never trusted himself enough.
Finding out more about who he is last season probably helped, but also, his relationship has grown with Alex Manes (Tyler Blackburn). It was a little rocky start to them living together, but now he’s more confident than ever, which may be bad at the moment. He trusts Alex so much that he’s not worried about him. He has no idea that Alex got buried in the sand. Hopefully, when Alex doesn’t call him back about Maria DeLuca (Heather Hemmens), he’ll figure out something is wrong. That could be while still, though. He knows he’s in Mexico searching for the ballons, so Michael may just assume he’s out of cell range or something. But someone needs to figure out Alex is missing soon. This new alien is just knocking them down one by one. First, Alex, then Eduardo and Cameron. Luckily, Isobel is in PI mode, so she tracked Cam down and found her. Unfortunately, it looks like Eduardo is still wandering in the desert. We thought Jones was bad, but this woman can easily change bodies, and she can fake death and regenerate.
But maybe Michael will be the one to save them. He’s powerful, and now he’s trusting himself. I would be happy with that ending. But I’m sure it will be much like last season. They will all have to unite to defeat this alien, which isn’t bad. I love seeing them all work together. And we still don’t know everything. We know they are trying to go home, but what do they want with Jones’ body, and are they trying to change this world or their world? Still so many questions. But before we answer them, can we please save Alex?
